I’m a proud Ngiyampaa woman, born and raised on Wilyakali Country in Broken Hill, New South Wales.
My journey into health and community services began with NSW Health, where I spent three years working as an Aboriginal Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Trainee. During this time, I studied Health Science (Mental Health) at Charles Sturt University, completing a diploma before relocating to Adelaide.
In Adelaide, I worked in disability support, helping individuals and families navigate everyday challenges. I later moved to the Sunshine Coast, where I worked as an au pair before taking on a rewarding role supporting young people through a specialised youth program.
What attracted me to Wakai Waian Healing was its genuine sense of community and commitment to supporting people. It reminded me of my early work in Broken Hill, where our team travelled into Aboriginal communities to provide mental health support. I really valued the relationships we built and the opportunity to work directly with people in their own communities.
I’m excited to join the team at the Caloundra clinic and be part of an organisation that places people, culture and community at the heart of its work.
Looking ahead, I hope to continue my studies and build a career in mental health and wellbeing. Joining Wakai Waian Healing feels like a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with work I’m passionate about while continuing to learn and grow.
