Meet our Carer/ Support Person Advocate
Who is the Carer Support Person Advocate?
My Name is Sharni Upton and my role as the Carer Support Person Advocate is dedicated to promoting, identifying, and meeting the specific needs of Carers and Support Person’s, who care and support consumers of Wakai Waian Healings Psychology, Counselling and Mental Health Service.
What does the Carer Support Person do?
- Facilitate and promote the inclusion and participation of Carers and Support Person’s in the journey of the person they care for and ensure that Carers and Support Person’s can provide feedback, identify concerns, and have input.
- Promote resources that provide education and information to Carers and Support Person’s.
- Identify and address Carer and Support Person’s needs.
- The role of the Carer Support Person Advocate is to ensure that Carers and Support Person’s have access to the support that they need to continue their caring duties.

- Wish to share information that will impact the assessment/diagnosis, treatment of recovery of the person you provide care and support to.
