Young Carers/ Support Person’s are people up to 25 years old who support a family member or friend with their social and emotional wellbeing or substance misuse, and they do not get paid for this support and care that they provide.
What do Young Carers and Support Person’s do?
Young Carers and Support Person’s may help with tasks such as:
- House hold chores
- Baby sitting
- Paying Bills
- Personal Care
- Giving Medications & Reminders about appointments
- Emotional Support
Who might Young Carers/Support Persons Support?
Young Carers/ Support Persons may provide support and unpaid care to their:
- Mother
- Father
- Siblings
- Cousin
- Grandparent,
- Friend,
- Partner, or
- Child
Young Carers/ Support Person’s may look after them every day or from time to time.
