Anne-Maree Scott

Provisional Psychologist

As a proud Wonnarua woman from the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, my passion for psychology comes from a genuine desire to walk alongside people as they navigate life’s most difficult experiences.

I am currently completing my Master of Professional Psychology through La Trobe University and am undertaking my placement with Wakai Waian Healing. Alongside my studies, I have worked as a counsellor within the correctional system, supporting people through complex personal challenges and gaining valuable experience working with First Nations communities.

My greatest professional interest is trauma. I have seen the profound impact that traumatic experiences can have on individuals, families and communities, and I am passionate about supporting people to heal and rebuild their lives. In the future, I hope to work across both hospital and community settings, helping people recover not only from physical illness and critical care, but also from the emotional and psychological effects that often follow.

Joining Wakai Waian Healing was an easy decision. As an Aboriginal woman, I wanted to be part of an organisation that places culture, respect and community at the centre of its work. I feel privileged to be learning within a team that values culturally safe practice while delivering high-quality psychological care, and I look forward to continuing to grow as a clinician while supporting people on their healing journey.
