Ayla Valente Biral

Provisional Psychologist

Ayla is a dedicated professional from Brazil with a deep curiosity and respect for Indigenous cultures. Her interest spans not only her home country and communities, like the Yudjá people of the Amazon and the Pataxó of Bahia, but also the Indigenous peoples of Australia, including both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, where she works to offer support and empowerment.

Growing up in Brazil, Ayla was strongly influenced by her uncle and aunt, who dedicated their lives to supporting the health and well-being of Indigenous communities in the Amazon, particularly along the Xingú River, a key waterway for many groups. With a passion for mental health, Ayla completed five years of psychology studies, which provided her with a solid foundation in the field. She then honed her expertise in complex trauma and gained extensive experience working with NDIS clients and the Neurodiverse Community. She remains committed to expanding her knowledge and deepening her practice.

Ayla recently achieved provisional registration with AHPRA, marking an important milestone in her Psychology career in Australia. As she progresses through her internship and works towards becoming a General Psychologist, she is eager to make a positive impact on her community.

Since joining Wakai Waian Healing, Ayla has found a strong sense of purpose and is devoted to helping individuals overcome past challenges and supporting their healing journey. Outside of her professional life, Ayla is a nature lover who spent much of her childhood exploring the Atlantic Forest with her family. She now enjoys discovering the diverse forests and landscapes of Australia. An avid surfer, Ayla also enjoys embarking on new adventures.
