Elaine was born in Oxford and raised in a rural village on the outskirts of Oxfordshire. She has many memories as a child of spending time in the woodlands in this rural setting, and these experiences allowed her to develop a deep connection to nature and the land she lives on. Elaine has connections and family from Northern Ireland, Cornwall, and Maine (USA) and has spent time living on Wurundjeri Country, Quandamooka Country and Batjala Country.
Elaine feels very fortunate to be raising her family on the Sunshine Coast. She pays respect to the Gubbi Gubbi people and the Jinibara people, the traditional custodians of the land in which she works, lives, and plays. Elaine is a warm, empathetic psychologist who accepts the uniqueness of everyone. She has many years of experience working across a variety of clinical settings including forensic, disability, and mental health services.
Elaine’s key interests include working with adolescents, adults and older adults in the areas of mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment difficulties, addictions, and trauma. Elaine approaches therapy with a holistic view of the client in relation to their world, and tailors her approach accordingly.
