I am a Provisional Psychologist currently completing the final stage of my postgraduate training in psychology. I grew up in Bendigo, Victoria, where spending time on Country, around farmland and bushland, shaped my appreciation for place, wellbeing, and connection. After living in Bendigo for over 20 years, I relocated to Queensland, drawn by the lifestyle and the opportunity to live closer to the ocean. I now call the Sunshine Coast home.
Before entering psychology, I completed a business degree and worked in marketing and administration. My pathway into psychology began while working in an administrative role at a psychology clinic on the Sunshine Coast. In that role, I had the opportunity to learn about the day-to-day work of psychologists, engage with clinicians, and gain insight into the therapeutic process from behind the scenes. Through conversations with practitioners and exposure to clinical environments, I realised that supporting people through their mental health journeys was the work I felt most drawn to.
Following this, I returned to university to study psychology. Having previously completed an undergraduate degree allowed me to fast-track my studies. I completed my undergraduate psychology studies online through the University of New England, followed by Honours at Monash University. I am currently completing my Master’s degree at La Trobe University, with only a small number of subjects remaining before graduating as a Provisional Psychologist and commencing my internship year toward general registration.
My clinical interests include working with adolescents and young adults, as well as a strong interest in women’s mental health. I value creating a safe, supportive space where people feel heard and understood, and I am particularly drawn to working with individuals navigating life transitions, emotional challenges, and mental health concerns during key developmental stages.
In terms of therapeutic approaches, I have experience with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which I value for its mindful, flexible, and values-based framework. I am also developing an interest in trauma-informed practice and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and I am keen to continue building my skills in this area through supervision and training.
I am enthusiastic about working within multidisciplinary teams and believe that holistic care is strengthened through collaboration across disciplines. I am also keen to continue learning from diverse cultural perspectives and look forward to developing my practice within culturally responsive and community-informed settings.
I am currently based on the Sunshine Coast and will be working under supervision as I continue my professional development toward general registration.
