My life journey began in Blackwater, on the traditional lands of the Ghungalu people, before I moved to Rocky, where I went to school and grew up on Dharumbal country.
With nearly two decades of experience in vet nursing, I have always sought a career that allows me to make a meaningful impact. My passion for helping others led me to complete a degree in medical science, which sparked my interest in the intricate relationship between chronic disease and mental health. Now, I am pursuing my studies in occupational therapy, mainly focused on how stress and physical health intertwine.
My role at Wakai Wayan resonates deeply with my values. I am inspired by our commitment to accessibility and holistic approach to supporting individuals in engaging in what matters most to them. Everyone deserves the opportunity to live their best life, free from barriers.
I’m also passionate about advocating for First Nations cultures and practices. As I continue my training, I look forward to integrating culturally safe practices into my work, ensuring that our services reflect and honour the diverse needs of our community.
Joining Wakai Wayan has allowed me to align my career with my values and empowered me to contribute to meaningful change in the lives of others. I am excited about the journey ahead and the opportunity to help individuals thrive.
