Low Intensity Psychological Therapy (LIPT)
Wakai Waian Healing is proud to be delivering the Low Intensity Psychological Services across Rockhampton, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Nambour.
Eligible consumers can access this service with funding support from Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast Primary Health Network.
Low intensity services are evidence-based psychological services that target people with or at risk of mild mental illness within a stepped-care approach, and are designed to be accessed:
- Quickly, without the need for a formal referral;
- Easily, through a range of modalities available to consumers, including face to face, group work, telephone and digital interventions; and,
- Efficiently, typically involving a small number of services, and short sessions, and providing a less costly alternative to traditional psychological services. Services such as those available through the Medicare-based Better Access initiative and other PHN primary health care services funded through the PHN flexible pool.
This service seeks to offer a flexible hierarchy of tailored interventions matched to an individual’s needs. Mental Health Stepped care is about ensuring that people can access the most appropriate services at any given time – including the ability to step up and down to different levels of care as their needs vary.
All referrals will require a PHN mental health intake form:
